Traditional Lion Dance

Lion dance and Dragon dance are common during Chinese New Year and are an important part of Traditional Chinese Culture. It is believed that the loud beats of the drum and the deafening sounds of the cymbals together with the face of the dragon or lion dancing aggressively, can evict bad or evil spirits. Dragon dance is different from the other one because it can be represented only with at least 9 persons in form of a long coiling snake with the aim of evocate the good spirit of Dragon, the Lion on the other side is performed in order to get rid of the bad spirits by mutual consent offering the animal some food and drinks.
